A nomadic multidisciplinary artist weaving tape-saturated folk and lo-fi sketches. Born in Mexico City and raised as a nomad, Marion Raw spent her childhood moving nearly two dozen times across various countries with her mother. This itinerant upbringing fostered an internal monologue that eventually found its outlet in music and visual art. Her solo work is characterized by a multidisciplinary approach, often utilizing found sounds and home recordings to create a lo-fi, intimate aesthetic. Raw first gained recognition as a member of the Mexican garage-rock band Love la Femme. Her transition to a solo career was marked by the release of "Deep Cuts" in 2021, a collection of covers and sketches recorded on a Tascam 4-track. This was followed by "Ghost in the Machine" in 2022, an album that further explored her interests in ghost-like melodies and tape-saturated folk-rock. Her music frequently explores themes of identity, migration, and the "disembodied" nature of modern life. By blending analog warmth with a wandering spirit, Raw has established herself as a distinct voice in the contemporary indie-folk scene, moving between Mexico City and Los Angeles.
