JDS is a British electronic dance music duo formed by Darren Pearce and Julian Napolitano in the mid-1990s. The pair became prominent figures in the breakbeat scene, earning a reputation as one of the genre's leading production teams. They are best known for their 1997 club and Ibiza anthem "Nine Ways," which reached the top five of the UK Dance Chart. Throughout their decade-plus tenure, the duo released several UK chart hits including "London Town" and "Destiny Calls." Their 2005 full-length album, The Adventures of the Purple Funky Monkey, showcased a stylistic breadth that incorporated elements of hip-hop, funk, electro, and rock. Their work received support from major industry figures such as Fatboy Slim and Laurent Garnier before the duo ceased activity around 2008.
