The Intelligence is an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1999 by multi-instrumentalist Lars Finberg. Known for a prolific output that includes nine studio albums and numerous singles, the project began as a lo-fi home-recording venture before evolving into a full studio ensemble and touring act. The band's sound is a distinctive blend of post-punk, garage rock, and garage punk. Over two decades, they have maintained a steady presence in the underground scene, releasing music through influential labels such as In the Red, Dirtnap, and Born Bad Records, and collaborating with members of Thee Oh Sees and A-Frames.
