JJUUJJUU is the rotating psych-rock project led by Phil Pirrone, the musician and founder of the California music festival Desert Daze. Pirrone, formerly of the post-hardcore band A Static Lullaby, established the project as a vehicle for experimental and neo-psychedelic exploration.\n\nThe music is characterized by heavy rhythms and atmospheric textures, often featuring collaborations and remixes from artists such as METZ, Autolux, and J Mascis. Based in Los Angeles, the project serves as a sonic extension of the immersive, desert-inspired aesthetic championed by the Desert Daze festival.
