About
Formed in 2009 by step-siblings Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse, Skating Polly is an American rock outfit known for a sound that shifts between riot grrrl intensity, grunge, and melodic indie pop. Originally a duo noted for their alternating instrumentation and poetic lyrics, the band expanded to a trio in 2017 with the addition of Mayo’s brother, Kurtis, on drums.
Over a decade of prolific activity, the band has evolved from home-recorded beginnings to collaborating with punk legends like Exene Cervenka and touring globally. Their discography, spanning from their 2010 debut 'Taking Over the World' to 2023’s 'Chaos County Line', showcases a raw yet catchy approach to alternative rock that balances visceral energy with sophisticated songwriting.
