Little Venom formed when singer/guitarist Alaia D’Alessandro and guitarist Ricky Hoyos started swapping songs in the car while on tour with The Joy Formidable. The two bonded over a mix of shared and opposing obsessions—post-hardcore experiments, a love/hate fixation on The Strokes, and heated arguments about nu metal. Out of that friction came a desire to build something new that combined complex, heavy guitars with catchy, offbeat melodies and a DIY ethos. In the process, they joined forces with bassist Ana Von Huben who added rhythmic nuance and melodic depth to a growing roster of genre-bending songs. Ash would join later on as the funniest and coolest member of the band, auditioning as the band’s drummer after an incredibly convincing email.
Little Venom has toured Mexico, released Seattlélite, a split single with Mexico City band mini.mono, and hit the road supporting Tommy Stinson (The Replacements, Guns N’ Roses). The band is currently at work on their debut full-length, with Stinson in the producer’s
