About
Raw West Coast psychedelic rock with a garage-blues soul.
Founded in San Francisco in 2009 and now based in Los Angeles, The Spyrals are a rock outfit led by multi-instrumentalist Jeff Lewis. The band is known for a raw, DIY approach to recording, often utilizing Tascam tape machines to capture a sound that bridges 13th Floor Elevators-style psychedelia with gritty garage-blues and alt-country influences.
Over the past decade, the group has evolved through various lineups while maintaining a consistent focus on fuzz-drenched melodies and driving rhythms. Their touring history includes performances at SXSW and international dates across Europe and Russia, sharing stages with prominent psych-rock acts like Moon Duo and The Warlocks. The band's fifth album, Retrograde (2024), marks a return to their self-produced roots while exploring themes of isolation and resilience.
