About
Formed in Detroit in 1986, The Gories are a foundational garage punk trio consisting of Mick Collins, Dan Kroha, and Peggy O'Neill. The group distinguished themselves by stripping garage rock to its essentials, famously omitting a bass player and incorporating raw, overt blues influences into their sound.
After releasing three influential albums including Houserockin' and Outta Here, the band disbanded in 1992. They remained a cult touchstone for the garage rock revival of the late 90s and early 2000s, eventually reuniting in 2009 for international touring. Their legacy is defined by a primitive, soulful approach to rock and roll that helped bridge the gap between 60s garage and modern punk blues.
